ASPEN, CO
Mid-Century architecture inspired the vision for 287 McSkimming Road, located in Aspen’s East End. This 6,800 square foot residence sits on one acre with breathtaking views of four Rocky Mountains. In lieu of working with a traditional architect for design and planning, we collaborated with millwork company, Henrybuilt as well as the world-class landscape firm, Design Workshop, to emphasize the site’s extraordinary view and West facing light. Single-floor living allows for user ease and comfort, with guest and auxiliary spaces consciously designed on separate floors.
Exposed structural elements and use of terrazzo floors and Tadelakt walls refine the interior spaces, while simple landscaping softens where the exterior space meets nature. The project is the recipient of the World Landscape Architect Merit Award and Colorado/Wyoming ASLA Chapter Merit Awards in Residential Design. The home sold pre-completion in 2019.
